A different raid

Live the adventure: leaving all points of reference behind, opening up to the world in this one-of-a-kind Raid with other students. This sporting challenge combines navigation by road-book with a regularity motor sport event. In the style of the great mythical African adventure, this is a motor sport event based on a principal recognised by the Fédération Internationale Automobile (FIA): regularity. Here it is not speed that counts, but rather a good strategy for managing each leg combined with navigation by the road-book. A raid, a travel adventure and a sporting event rolled into one, the Students Challenge has true sporting regulations and a clear ranking system.

Discover: Morocco, on board a 2WD vehicle - 4L, Punto, Renault 5, 2CV... all vehicles are accepted...

Exchange: with students from different schools and different countriesin a spirit of friendliness and a festive atmosphere.

Cultivate your values!

Cultivate your values! : PLANT trees on Green Day. Under the United Nations Environmental Programme’s “Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign”, we set aside one day during the Raid for all of the students to take part in a true sustainable development project: Creating an oasis by planting date palms, and providing a solar irrigation system so that, within a few years, the "fruits of their labour" will provide food and comfort to the village of Bani Moussi in Morocco. This operation was highly successful during the 1st edition of the Raid (774 trees planted).

Offsetting carbon dioxide emissions : As in the 1st edition, every team taking part in the Raid must purchase a carbon offset to compensate for their carbon dioxide emissions produced during the Raid through Yann Arthus Bertrand’s actioncarbone.org programme. The funds will be used to finance a sustainable development project.

Clean Bivouac : As in the 1st edition, the bivouac sites are protected by the implementation of a system of waste management and recycling. Biodegradable garbage bags are used. Toilet facilities are set up at each bivouac.

"STUDENT RESPECT" Charter : A "Charter of Responsible Behaviour" must be respected by all participants in the Raid.

Changing your vision

Changing your vision of “humanitarian” means respecting the population that you are trying to help.

It is more than just sending donations; it is taking the time to understand and act to ensure the population’s future.

Nutrition is a worldwide health issue. This is why the Students Challenge is asking every student to join forces with the Moroccan government, UNICEF and the Aïcha Foundation by donating staple and large-scale foods.

Every team must bring a "Nutrition Education Kit" comprising flour, oil and salt to the Students Challenge. During the raid, these donations will be given to a village at a nutrition education workshop – teachers will show the population how to eat better without it costing more!
Knowing how to eat well means better living and less illness... you can play a part in making a change…
