Charter of responsible behaviour

This Raid is a great human adventure, with the utmost respect for ethics and ecology. This is why the organiser has decreed a “Charter of responsible behaviour” which every participant must agree to respect. Neither constraint nor hindrance, the Charter is intended to ensure responsible behaviour while making the most of this experience.

It contains 9 points:

1. Joy, good humour and a festive spirit. Each participant agrees to live this experience with good humour, tolerance and a festive spirit.

2. Respect for others: participants, organisers, journalists, local populations. Every participant agrees to respect others, and in particular, the local populations who welcome us to Morocco.

3. Helping the other participants. Every participant agrees to experience this Raid as a challenge, but in the “spirit of the game”, which means helping others.

4. Respecting the host country by following the Highway Code and by driving at a reasonable speed in villages and when encountering pedestrians, herds of animals...

5. Respect for the desert by not littering, dumping used oil, or otherwise soiling the environment. The participant agrees to bring garbage bags (biodegradable) to collect his/her garbage.

6. Waste management at the end of each day: sorting garbage using the facilities provided by the organisation (containers for recyclables).

7. Use of the toilets set up by the organisation at the bivouacs.

8. Giving of oneself: working together to set up an environmentally sustainable project. Each participant must contribute to the realisation of an ecological project set up by the organisation during the Raid (a day spent working on a common project).

9. Personal commitment: every participant must bring basic foods as part of a nutrition education program.
