The concept of the Students Challenge Morocco

The STUDENTS CHALLENGE Morocco is a regularity Raid open to all students, former students (with proof of registration for at least one year of post-Bac studies) and professors of all nationalities.

The event takes place over 6 days, or 6 Legs, partly on roads and partly on tracks. It takes place in Morocco. The regularity involves following the average speed given by the organiser. For example: Your defined average speed is 40 km/h. You know the starting point of the regularity zone, but not the end point, which is kept secret so that you must stick to your average speed of 40 km/h. You are guided by the road-book.
The role of the co-pilot is very important, as he or she will regulate the pilot’s driving:  e.g. – “speed up, we are falling behind”, “slow down, you are driving too fast”, “keep going like this, we are right on our average”…
The road-book is precise: it will tell you where you need to go and the ideal time it should take to reach the next point.
At the end of each Leg, you will find out your exact time and will be able to calculate your seconds and therefore any penalty points that you may have earned.

A special “Green Day” during the Raid will provide a powerful experience with the local population, while participating together in an ecological project.

Sporting principle and rankings

 - In the style of the great mythical African adventure, this is a motor sport event based on regularity. Here it is not speed that counts, but rather a good management strategy combined with precise navigation.

The general ranking determines the overall winners (all vehicle categories combined). However, there are also 3 sub-rankings according to the age of the vehicle:

* Vehicles less than 10 years old
* Vehicles between 10 and 20 years old
* Vehicles over 20 years old.

This ranking is not a substitute for the overall general ranking, but is a complementary ranking to allow vehicles of a similar age to compete against each other.

Special Category:

A special “RENAULT” category provides a parallel ranking for students using this kind of vehicle. This ranking is not a substitute for the overall general ranking, but is a complementary ranking to allow “RENAULT” vehicles to compete against each other.
A special “RENAULT” grand prize will be awarded to the winner in this category at the end of the Raid.

Prizes:

Gifts will be awarded to the top 3 teams in the STUDENTS CHALLENGE Morocco.

“Green Cup”:

A special “Ecology” prize will be awarded to the school planting the most trees during the event.
